The Rocking S Art Ranch is very happy to welcome Aleksandra Paranchenko as our January Artist in Residence. Aleksandra “Sasha” left Kherson in Ukraine when Russia invaded. She found refuge in northern Sweden. You can follow Aleksandra on IG @Paranchenko.art

Paul Painting http://www.paulpainting.co.za is a short term resident, visiting the ranch form Cape Town, South Africa

Paul Painting studied graphic design at the Technikon Witwatersrand (1993-95) in Johannesburg, South Africa. Finding that commercial art satisfied little of his creative motives, Painting went on to balance his passion for traditional painting techniques with his fascination for film-making. Though the two mediums are discrete in his production, there remains an undeniable exchange of ideas between them. His preoccupations centre on the self; expressed through a syntax of deeply personalized symbols and ambiguous constructions while remaining figurative in nature. He has held a number of successful solo exhibitions and participated widely in group shows. His output is multidisciplinary but has always focused on traditional craft based mediums. He currently resides in Cape Town, South Africa.
